LEADERSHIP & TEAM
From origination to exit, every decision is made by professionals who have built, financed, and operated clean-energy infrastructure across global markets — not advisors watching from the sidelines.
OUR LEADERS
Six operators, financiers, and legal experts who've built careers in the very markets Energio invests in — with the track records to prove it.
Michael Hartwell
Co-Founder & CEO
Michael co-founded Energio after 22 years structuring infrastructure finance at Goldman Sachs and leading acquisitions for premier energy developers. He oversees all strategic, investment, and operational decisions.
Dr. Sarah Chen
Co-Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Sarah architected Energio's investment thesis and quantitative underwriting framework. Her background spans institutional asset management, energy systems modelling, and ESG-integrated portfolio construction across global markets.
James O’Brien
Chief Operating Officer
James runs all operational, project development, and people functions. His career spans 16 years at Duke Energy Renewables, where he scaled multi-state development teams and directed 1,800 MW of utility-scale asset delivery.
Priya Nair
Chief Financial Officer
Priya leads all finance, capital markets, and investor relations functions. Before joining Energio, she spent 17 years at Citi structuring infrastructure securitisations and syndicating project debt to institutional investors globally.
David Rosenberg
Head of Asset Management
David oversees Energio's entire portfolio of operating assets, driving performance optimisation, preventive maintenance programmes, and SCADA technology integrations. He brings 24 years of utility and renewable O&M experience.
Elena Vasquez
General Counsel & CCO
Elena manages all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions across Energio's operating jurisdictions. She joined from Jones Day's Energy Regulatory & Projects practice, where she advised developers on interconnection, PPA negotiation, and FERC proceedings.
INVESTMENT COMMITTEE
Every acquisition, hold decision, and exit requires unanimous approval from the Investment Committee — three specialists with deep infrastructure deal experience.
Robert Kingsley
Senior Portfolio Manager — Committee Chair
Chairs deal approval and portfolio sizing for all new acquisitions. Brings deep infrastructure debt/equity experience from Brookfield Infrastructure Partners, where he sourced and closed $6.8B in transactions across North America and Europe.
Lisa Park
Director of Risk & Analytics — Committee Member
Leads portfolio risk modelling, stress-testing, and performance attribution. Built TIAA's infrastructure risk framework covering $11B of assets and co-authored TIAA's Climate Risk Disclosure protocol adopted by three UN-backed investor coalitions.
Marcus Webb
Director of Deal Origination — Committee Member
Sources and negotiates all acquisition targets and sponsor relationships. At Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets, closed $4.2B of clean-energy asset acquisitions and advised on seven infrastructure fund formations across North America and Southeast Asia.
ADVISORY BOARD
Our advisors are operating executives and policy veterans who challenge Energio's assumptions, expand our network, and ensure our strategy stays current with grid realities and regulatory shifts.
Dr. Kenneth Afari
Energy Policy Advisor — Former FERC Commissioner
Advises on grid interconnection strategy, regulatory risk, and policy tailwinds following 12 years at FERC overseeing renewable integration rulemakings.
Catherine Brooke
ESG & Impact Advisor — Former Calpers ESG Director
Guides Energio's ESG reporting framework and institutional LP relations. Shaped Calpers' $40B climate-transition investment strategy and co-authored TCFD implementation guidance for infrastructure funds.
Sanjay Mehta
Technology Advisor — Founder, GridSense AI
Advises on digital asset management, predictive maintenance, and AI-driven grid analytics. Founded GridSense AI (acq. GE Vernova 2023); previously led grid intelligence R&D at DOE's National Renewable Energy Lab.
Rachel Okafor
Finance & Tax Advisor — Former IRS Renewable Energy Tax Lead
Advises on ITC/PTC optimisation, tax-equity structures, and IRA implementation. Spent 14 years at the IRS's Office of Chief Counsel writing guidance on energy tax credits before joining private practice.

CULTURE & PRINCIPLES
We don't post culture statements on walls. These are the operating principles that govern how Energio's team makes decisions, treats investors, and approaches every deal.
Owner’s Mentality
Team members are co-investors in every deal and hold meaningful stakes in the assets they manage. There is no mismatch between advisor incentives and investor returns. When you do well, we do well.
Principle 01
Transparency by Default
Investors receive full asset-level data, not portfolio-level summaries. If a project underperforms, you know first and you know why. We believe trust is built by sharing problems, not hiding them.
Principle 02
Infrastructure-Grade Rigour
We apply institutional diligence standards — independent engineering assessments, insurance validation, multi-year P90 energy forecasts — to every asset before a dollar is committed. No shortcuts. Ever.
Principle 03
Long-Horizon Thinking
We structure 20-to-30-year contracted cash flows because we believe in compound growth over short-term exits. Our asset-hold strategy aligns with how energy infrastructure actually works — and how investor wealth actually builds.
Principle 04
